North Central Florida is Growing in Medical Manufacturing

Ocala will welcome Apollo Renal Therapeutics LLC., a medical manufacturer, and its contract manufacturing company, Artemis Plastics. The company’s intention is to establish its North American headquarters in Marion County pending project specifics. The company is a great addition to Florida’s growing portfolio of medical device manufacturing companies and more specifically an addition to the North Central Florida area, which is a great neutral location for the southeast.

This is great news for Marion County’s local economy in terms of job creation, since Apollo Renal Therapeutics will be hiring 16 employees right away. One of Apollo Renal Therapeutics recent innovations is the development of an artificial kidney, also known as the dialyzer.

Just in Time Machining, LLC., another manufacturing firm that works in aviation, announced that it will be manufacturing in Ocala because of a specific workforce. Currently through the College of Central Florida Community and Adult Education Program, there is training offered in computer numerical control, or CNC, which is needed in the manufacturing plants. Just in Time based its new geographic location of Ocala on the workforce being trained in CNC, as well as the access to Interstate 75 and Ocala’s central location.
