Project Volt

The Jacksonville City Council recently fast-tracked an economic development agreement with an international producer of solar panels and modules. Called Project Volt, the company is expected to bring 800 new jobs to Jacksonville with an average salary of $45,562 by the end of 2019.

If approved, Project Volt would open a manufacturing facility in West Jacksonville and an assembly and distribution plant in North Jacksonville. According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the company would establish its United States headquarters in the city.

The book retailer allows people to trade in or sell used books, movies, and video games for cash or store credit. Grub Burger Bar

Opening in The Strand at Town Center, Grub Burger Bar chain restaurant hails from Texas. Buns used for burgers and sandwiches are baked fresh each hour. Grub Burger Bar is known for its eccentric variety of milkshakes and burger toppings. This is the second location for the company in Florida, with a third planned in Gainesville, FL later this year.

Residents familiar with the Northeast United States will find a dose of familiarity as Wawa continues expansion into the Jacksonville area during 2018. Known for its self-serve coffee and made-to-order hoagie sandwiches, Wawa opened three locations in Jacksonville before the end of 2017 and is expected to open six more by the end of this year. According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, each Wawa has an estimated $6 million investment and 40 employees.

The Alabama-based company has had a presence in neighboring Georgia and Alabama for many years, but the Jacksonville location would be its first in Florida. Located in The Crossing at Town Center, Goo-Goo 3 Minute Express Wash offers several wash options, including full use of vacuums and mat cleaners.

Virginia MacKoul

Virginia is a graduate from the University of Florida's College of Design Construction and Planning with a degree in Sustainability and the Built Environment, and a minor in Urban Regional Planning. Virginia joined the Front Street team in 2011, as an intern. Upon graduation, Virginia joined the Front Street team full-time as the Director of Client Services. Ms. MacKoul’s addition furthers Front Street’s continued growth and expansion within Gainesville and other North Central Florida markets. She was promoted to Director of Marketing in 2014 and now manages the firm’s team of interns and oversees all marketing and branding activity. Virginia was born in Boston and moved to Lee County, Florida in 1997. Virginia graduated her high school's International Baccalaureate program and started at the University of Florida with a focus on Architecture. Virginia shares Front Street's passion of giving back to the community and those in need. Virginia's hobbies include photography, cooking, football, movies, music, and spending time with her dog, Brinkley.
