According to Forbes, numerous cities in the state of Florida are on the upswing. Florida dominates the rest of the country with 9 out of the 25 fastest growing cities in America, furthermore boasting 4 out of the top 5 cities overall. Cape Coral – Ft. Myers, tops the list with a population growth of 3.39% and is enjoying rapid expansion in its metropolitan area. Jacksonville rounds out the top 5, attracting people with its favorable climate and hospitality industry. Forbes purpose behind constructing this list was to provide a holistic view of cities that are currently on the rise. Therefore, Forbes did not just look at population growth but took into consideration various factors that contribute to the overall growth of a city. Growth in each of the following key areas were measured: Population, Employment, Wages, Output, and Home Values. In every significant metric, Cape Coral, along with many cities in Florida, performed well and hope to continue with the trend of growth in the future.
