Depot Park is a 32-acre community redevelopment. The previous brownfield was contaminated by years of commercial and industrial waste and residue. In 1997, the City of Gainesville was issued a grant and set their sights to the future. "The Big Dig" began in 2000, and all contaminated soil and water was removed from the site. Now, after 20 years of planning and hard work, Depot Park opens its gates for all of Gainesville to enjoy.
