Chamber travels to expand Startup community ties

The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce marketing delegation made a trip to Boston during the final days of June that included 21 visits to different sites in the city, including company headquarters, expansion projects, and venture capital firms. Boston is well known as a high-tech leader in the startup community and is a great place to foster valuable connections. The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce is hopes to forge ties with these business leaders in an attempt to further grow the local economy.

“Boston is a natural fit. Its on the East Coast, it’s a technology hub, and there are investors who will invest in Gainesville companies,” said Susan Davenport, President of the Chamber. This is just one of the visits that have taken place as the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce helps Gainesville to emerge as a tech startup leader in the Southeast.

Virginia MacKoul

Virginia is a graduate from the University of Florida's College of Design Construction and Planning with a degree in Sustainability and the Built Environment, and a minor in Urban Regional Planning. Virginia joined the Front Street team in 2011, as an intern. Upon graduation, Virginia joined the Front Street team full-time as the Director of Client Services. Virginia was born in Boston and moved to Lee County, Florida in 1997. Virginia graduated her high school's International Baccalaureate program and started at the University of Florida with a focus on Architecture. Virginia's hobbies include photography, cooking, football, movies, music, and spending time with her dog, Brinkley.
