Starbucks Coffee Corporation will be offering an online ordering app that will make ordering coffee quicker and easier. Starting this Tuesday, over 4,000 Starbucks stores will allow customers to order and pay for their beverages in advance. After ordering on the app, the drink will be available for in-store pick up at the front of the pick-up line.
This new style of ordering is now available in 22 states, and will soon be accessible in other US states as well as in the UK and Canada. The app is only obtainable on iPhones, but Starbucks is working on an Android app that will be released later this year. The coffee company first tested the app in Portland, Oregon, and then expanded its use to more than 650 stores in the Pacific Northwest. With 16 million active users and almost 8 million mobile payment transactions every week, Starbucks hopes to capture even more on-the-go customers.
