Aerospace firm in Melbourne has 100 high-wage job openings

Northrop Grumman is a publicly traded company that specializes in the aerospace and defense industries. The company recently posted 100 high-wage jobs, such as technicians, engineers, and managers, for its Melbourne location. The influx of job openings is no surprise as the first phase of their $500 million building expansion was recently completed. The new 220,000 square foot facility includes office space along with research and development space. Their campus employment increased by 400 in 2014, and the company sees no signs of slowing down considering they are still filling requisitions. Although a date has not been established for the groundbreaking of the next phase, it is estimated to add 1,500 jobs by 2019. The Melbourne area has even more reasons to be optimistic about employment because other tech firms, such as Mitsubishi Hitachi Power systems and Symantec, are looking to fill openings.
