Fast Food Chains increase profits by implementing apps in their business modes

Your favorite fast food restaurant not fast enough? Apps have evolved to help out with this not-so-fast food problem… Customer convenience is a main reason for this evolving trend, but there’s no denying the increase in revenues fast food chains are experiencing. Taco Bell is the most recent fast food chain to launch a mobile order-ahead app, which was downloaded 2 million times in the first four months. These apps have the potential to greatly increase profit. For example, Taco Bell’s average order sales through apps are 20% higher because customers are more likely to add toppings or send in group orders via the app.

Although mobile order-ahead apps offer a huge financial upside for restaurants, they also carry risks. The main obstacle these apps present is managing order flow. If order flow is not managed properly, customers will have an irritable experience picking up their food.
