Farmers Market to Move During Bo Diddley Renovations
/The city-owned parking lot No. 10 will be home to the Union Street Farmers Market while renovations on the Bo Diddley Community Plaza take place. Southwest Second Street, First Avenue, First Street and Second Avenue bound parking lot No. 10.
The Bo Diddley Community Plaza renovations are set to begin March 1 and could take up to 12 months. The Union Street market and other scheduled events that normally occur at the plaza will not be able to use the property.
The parking lot No. 10 selection was based on available space needs, feedback from farmers market representatives and city staff. To prepare the parking lot for use, access to electrical hookups for vendors and minor maintenance such as tree trimming and general cleanup will be needed.
