City of Gainesville Accepting Online Building Permits

In December, the City of Gainesville Building Inspection Department announced its acceptance of online building permits. The availability began on Dec. 11, 2014.

The service is available to all contractors and property owners who register with the city. Applicants can apply for the following permits: mechanical, electrical, garage door, roofing, HVAC change outs, water heater replacements, plumbing re-piping, gas piping and window and door replacements.

Florida law requires applicants to initially register in person. Applicants, after registering, can apply for permits on the Citizen Access Portal on the City of Gainesville website.
