Why Gainesville?

Susan Davenport moved from Austin, TX to Gainesville, FL to undertake a position at the Gainesville Chamber.  When she first got the call from Tim Giuliani, Susan didn't know much about Gainesville, but was intrigued about the opportunity that presented itself to her. After some research, she was amazed by University of Florida's contribution to it’s community from research to innovation to the willingness to be a game changer for education. She was also fascinated with Santa Fe College and it’s national ranking. As her interest grew, she decided to visit Gainesville. The scenery and energy of Gainesville contributed to her already positive view of the City’s background. The terrain, history, growth, and opportunity to work with a team of professionals that could ensure success cemented her commitment to the job and Gainesville. Eighteen months after she accepted the position, she is continually impressed by the community and is excited for others to make Gainesville their new home and fall in love just as she did.
