WeWork is a start-up company that manages leased, shared office space. The company is based out of New York City and was recently valued at $5 billion. The companies co-founder, Adam Neuman, explained that they hope to create an environment for entrepreneurial minds to share ideas and coexist all in the same space. The cash flow that WeWork is bringing in is comparable to brand like Chipotle, said Henry Ellenbogen, a portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price. WeWork shouldn’t be viewed as just a real estate venture since they have a company application that allows WeWork customers to communicate about ideas and community events like happy hours. WeWork hopes to have around 3.5 million square feet of office space by the end of 2015, globally. In the next two to three years WeWork plans to have an IPO.
