More Multi-use Development Coming to Gainesville

Gainesville’s residential housing sector has grown tremendously since 2011 and though it has dropped slightly in 2014 compared to 2013, plans are on the rise to bring that growth back up with more lots being available to build on and the addition of several Mixed-Use developments in the area. Town of Tioga is planning on an 18-lot expansion, bringing the total of 375 home lots to the area. There are additional plans in the works for the Town of Tioga area including another pool, soccer field, future charter school, and more recently a Town of Tioga Village that would be similar to Haile Village. Town of Tioga still consists of 275 undeveloped acres. Two other notable developments in the works are Park Avenue at Sante Fe, which spans 27 acres on the southeast corner of northwest 39th avenue and 83rd street. This will be a multi-use development including 300 apartment units and 30,000 square feet of commercial space. Lastly, off of Archer road west of 91st street, a new residential and mixed-use planned 140-acre development previously called Southampton, has been purchased by Emmer Development Corporation recently and the corporation has submitted final plans to move forward with the 560-single family, apartment and town home units as well 30,000 square feet of commercial space.
