As classrooms continue to transition from the traditional in-class setting to virtual classrooms, Broom and Don Pezet founded ITProTV in November 2013 to facilitate the interest in virtual learning.
ITProTV provides information for technology professionals and training in software certifications such as CompTIA A+, Security+ and CCNA. The content is set up in a informal manner that is easy to use and view. With monthly subscription costs at $57, IT Pro TV is already in 43 countries with 10,000 paying subscribers. Subscribers have the option to watch live feed, archived shows and participate in a chat box during the broadcast.
Broom has another IT-learning business, New Horizons, that he opened in 2000. He launched his first location in Gainesville, and locations in Pensacola, Greensboro, Charlotte and North Carolina followed. Although New Horizons centers are owned by franchisees, Broom has put his franchised business locations up for sale to focus on ITProTV. This move will allow him to break free from limitations and target the global market. Before Broom entered the tech industry, he spent 12 years in a trucking business around Florida. He then took New Horizon classes and became inspired to be part of the franchise.
