Twitter is launching a fresh new layout

The next time you log on to Twitter, your home page might look a little different. Twitter is officially launching a new user profile design. The goal of the new design is to help users express “who they really are.”

This past February Twitter opened with a new and refreshed look with whiter design and larger buttons. The new design will expand on the recent changed design. With the new layout, users will be able to pin their top or favorite tweets to the top of their page. The pinned tweet will then move down when fresh tweets are posted. A user’s profile will now include a larger profile picture, customizable headers, and a “best tweet” option. These new features will create more engagement and easier navigation through users profile. The new Twitter profile will look similar to a Web landing page with different tabs to access photos/videos, followers, and following.  Photos and videos will be set up like a gallery with a two-column display of all the videos and photos the user has shared.

Twitter has tested the new profiles among a small user group and you might be getting yours over the next couple weeks. New users will automatically set up their Twitter profile with the new design and will be guided through the fresh layout. Twitter is hoping this new layout will appeal to more users.
