Altavian Inc., under a $4 million subcontract, plans to integrate Lockheed Martin’s gimbaled sensor payloads into the United States Army’s RQ-20 Puma unmanned aircraft systems.
Lockheed Martin’s Procerus Technologies Perceptor imaging sensor provides stabilization and sharper images, dual-band imaging and laser illumination systems to pilots, according to Lockheed Martin. Altivan and Lockheed Martin jointly developed the perceptor payload. The technology completed several U.S. Army tests.
Altavian, headquarted in Gainesville, manufactures small unmanned aircraft systems designed for high quality geospatial data collection while providing services and support. Currently, Altavian is a small business Prime contractor on the $248 million DIQ with the Army’s Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office.
