The University of Florida, Orlando Campus and the International Council of Shopping Centers hosted the Retailer Seminar: Optimize your Profit and Productivity in the Shopping Center Environment in Orlando Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.
The two-day interactive workshop led to an ICSC/UF Certificate of Completion. The workshop included break-out sessions, case studies and off-site shopping center visits. Formal presentations, discussions, case studies and videos focused on a range of retailers including department stores, fashion retailers, home centers, convenience stores and supermarkets.
The seminar, designed for mid-to-senior real estate executives in retailing, focused on maximizing profitability through collaboration and sharing of consumer insights and market area demographics.
Speakers of the event included Steven Kirn, executive director of David F. Miller for Retailing Education and Research at the University of Florida, and David Lobaugh, president of August Partners, Inc., Marie Driscoll, chief executive officer and chief consultant for Driscoll Advisors, Deborah Weinswig, executive director of Head Global Retail Research & Intelligence Fung Group, and Buck Sappenfield, ICSC past trustee and former senior vice president of Real Estate ANN Inc.
