GTEC Ready to Welcome New Companies

Big things are happening in East Gainesville! This upcoming February, the Gainesville Technology Entrepreneurship Center business incubator on Hawthorne Road will have plenty of space to welcome a new tenant.

As a testament to its success, the current second floor tenant is moving into their own space after 12 years of being at the incubator. The company Optym provides software solutions for transportation companies. Optym is relocating to Tower Road, where it will house its 130 employees in its own building.

A current tenant of the GTEC is The Tech Toybox, a firm which helps inventors build prototypes. This adds to the allure of the center for any light manufacturing companies looking to move in and take advantage of the proximity. The Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency plans on constructing nine more buildings in addition to parks, ponds and cafés on the 14-acre property, further increasing the attractiveness of the incubator.
