Guitar Center is coming to Gainesville.

Front Street Commercial Real Estate Group announced Thursday that it had closed on a lease for the music store to come to Esplanade at Butler Plaza.

“The plan is to get to the build-out pretty quickly,” said Nick Banks, Front Street managing director. “I’m hearing their goal is to be open within the next 90 days.”

The store would be at 3210 SW 35th Blvd., Suite 203. Banks said the store will occupy about 8,000 square feet of what is now a 12,000-square foot space between the newly relocated McAlister’s Deli and the old Publix on the north end of the shopping center.

Guitar Center stores offer new and used guitars, amplifiers, drums, keyboards, as well as other instruments, audio and recording equipment, and music lessons.

Guitar Center was founded in Hollywood, Calif., and has more than 200 stores.
