Tropical Smoothie Cafe Renews Lease at University Towne Center

GAINESVILLE, FL – Front Street Commercial Real Estate Group announced today that Tropical Smoothie Café renewed its lease at University Towne Center for an additional five years.  Tropical is one of the center’s original tenants and has occupied its current location since 2004.  Front Street, through its Invested program, made a donation on behalf of Tropical’s lease renewal to Gainesville HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters).

Nick Banks, Managing Director of Front Street, said, “We are extremely pleased Tropical Smoothie Café has chosen to remain a part of University Towne Center and that we can make a difference for HIPPY as a result.  As one of our original tenants,” added Banks, who manages the center, “Tropical has always been a consistent draw.  Its recent change to a 24-hour-a-day operation has helped make University Towne Center an around-the-clock destination.”

Gainesville HIPPY, a local non-profit, is a parent-involvement program focused on school readiness for three-, four- and five-year-old children.  The program helps parents prepare their children for success in school and beyond.  Carefully developed curriculum materials are designed to strengthen the child’s cognitive, early literacy, social and emotional skills, as well as physical development.

Through the Front Street Invested program, Front Street makes a donation equal to 10% of the commission revenue generated from each brokerage transaction to a local, non-profit agency partnered with United Way of North Central Florida.  In addition to the donation, Front Street’s associates participate in a day of service for the non-profit to help with services needed by the agency.
